Traditional dishes
Kazakh cuisine is an important part of Kazakhstan's cultural heritage. Traditional dishes reflect the history, customs, and hospitality of the Kazakh people. For centuries, honored guests have been welcomed with the finest food and offered the place of honor at the dastarkhan.
At Kogez Ethno Village, guests can enjoy a cozy café with two dining halls decorated in Eastern and European styles, as well as a spacious summer hall with glass walls.
The menu is based on traditional Kazakh cuisine, while a selection of popular European dishes is also available.
The centerpiece of the Kazakh dastarkhan is beshbarmak, a traditional dish prepared with tender horsemeat or lamb served with thin sheets of handmade dough.
Most traditional Kazakh dishes are made from horsemeat. Guests can also enjoy authentic delicacies such as kazy, zhal-zhaya, and chuzhuk.
Thanks to Kazakhstan's centuries-old livestock-breeding traditions, lamb also plays an important role in the national cuisine. Popular dishes include kuyrdak, manti, pilaf, and shashlik.
